~Unnecessary Extremes~ :Kanda Yu x Reader:

The room was silent and still, save for a thin string of wavering smoke coming from the stick of incense in front of the blue-haired swordsman. He certainly savored such a time, given no one would ever think of bothering him, unless they wanted to be swiftly sliced in the form of those noodles he loved so much.


Yes, this was perfect.


If it meant [Name] was to be considered one of the fools who dared, then so be it. Because come hell or high waters, she was going to get the samurai's attention. Aligning the arrow with the bowstring, the young woman lifted the weapon, aiming directly for Kanda's forehead. Once she let go, [Name] peaked out from behind the corner, attempting to see his reaction.


The exorcist sensed no danger from the oncoming arrow, picking it out of the air as it was just inches away from making contact, the action causing [e/c] gems to widen. Kanda examined the red and pink piece, scowl intensifying while he snapped the arrow near effortlessly in half.


He stood up, and [Name] gulped as he headed right to her location. She kept a strong head, trying her best not to chicken out. [Name] found herself standing as well, taking a deep breath before turning around to face the consequence.


She faced the taller male, his dark eyes glaring down at her. A few moments passed and Kanda had yet to speak a single word. Instead of waiting any longer, [Name] broke the silence with an quiet tone. "...And that's how I feel."


She said, surprised that the sentence wasn't accompanied by a stutter. [Name] straightened her posture in triumphed, feeling quite proud. "Like murdering me?"


"Wha..? No! Not like that!" She replied, embarrassed, heat spreading across her face. Her former emotions withering like leaves exposed to the crisp autumn air. "Like... This."


Standing on the very tip of her toes, [Name] leaned up, placing a gentle yet timid kiss upon Kanda's cheek. She pulled away quickly, finding near immediate interest in the floor. Kanda scoffed, an action that brought her head up to face him.  


Her glance caught his for a split-second as he strode past, stopping at the doorway. "You know, you could have just asked, instead of trying to shoot me."
